So you only need to replace the bulb illuminating the LCD? Just cut the solder points on the current bulb, and solder in a new one. The only questions are which end is positive/negative, and do you need a resistor.

Start trying to find some answers on your own, you'll be surprised how much you learn.

I know ledautomotive sells solderless kit for manual climate control, but the only problem with that is the leds are not bright. i am looking for high power led solderless option

Take it apart and find out yourself, lol. It takes like .. not even 5 minutes .

I know that the auto climate control takes 3x 4mm and 3 5mm bulbs ..

the one you are telling me is for auto climate control.I need for manual climate control.

I don't even know how to take the thing apart. I've tried by removing screw after screw but I hit a snag and couldn't remove anything more.

I just took apart my 6disc that broke to see if I could fix it. I kept peelings things away and removing stuff…now even if I did find the problem and fixed it, I would have no idea how to put it back together. :lawl:

What you need to remove is straightforward though, luckily. There are like 4 screws and a couple tabs that hold the faceplate on, just disconnect those and the faceplate comes right off. At this point you’re holding the circuit board and you can see all the bulbs and what not. You may have to separate the circuit board from the front to get to the bulb that lights up the LCD, not sure. If that is the case, it would just be more screws to take out. Then after you replace the bulb, you can just put the faceplate back on the unit (which you don’t need to disassemble).

I’ll take some photos of what I took apart if you’d like.

Yes, i know, that's why i'm telling you to take it apart yourself to see. Its only 3 screws holding the face plate on, two underneath the face plate and one behind the clock. After you've removed those screws you can start to pull the face plate off which will reveal the backside of the controls whereby you'll see all of the bulb sockets.

I started trying to take the faceplate off but didn't get far/didn't try that hard. I'll give it another whirl and see how it fairs. I don't think I'd need pics but if you've got em, sure.
