Found a possible source for a full black leather interior, supposedly in excellent condition. Unfortunately, the trunk had a spoiler…fail yet again.

But for the interior…I’d be taking the seats, seat belts, door panels, floor mats, rear deck, headliner, visors, door pillars, upper/lower dash, console shell…I think that’s everything...

What do you guys think is a fair price? Or those of you who have swapped, what did you get yours for? Thanks.

No less than $500 would be a fair price for both sides. If you can get it cheaper than that, more power to ya. I seriously considered buying something similar to this for around $800, but went the aftermarket & custom upholstery route instead.

Conservatively pricing things out...front/rear interior panels are worth $150 all day, center console is another $50, dash is another $100, rear deck/headliner/pillars combined are another $100, and that doesn't even include the seats & other parts.

I check for these types of parts almost everyday on eBay, and you usually won't even be able to find the parts I've priced out at the prices I've mentioned (shipping prices are usually inflated and somewhat ridiculous), or they happen to be located in Canada. So if you get a great deal, jump on it...the type X (technically Dark Charcoal, but what we all consider to be Black) interior is well worth the hassle. Good luck...

I forgot to mention, the nice thing here is that the donor car is a ‘98. So I don’t have to worry about any SRS issues.

Great info, thank you. Another aspect here is the floor carpet; unless his is in really good condition, I’m not going to want it. But I don’t think I want to go to the trouble of dying mine. Guess I need to look up how much a new one is or where the cheapest place to buy one would be.

Nope, he is just parting out the car so mine will be rendered useless.

If the interior is to your liking I would offer $300. It's not a low ball offer and it's a good starting point to haggle if he doesn't bite. Times are tough, people see cash in their face and they go for it.

Yeah, trying to decide if I should throw him a number or ask what he is looking for first...money hasn't been discussed yet. Still waiting on photos, which he already said he would send twice...

In negotiating, you should always let the other person throw out a number first. If the number is too high, show that in your reaction and justify your reasoning. Just watch American Pickers. lol
