I would recommend you go with full coils or a Ground Control/Aftermarket Strut setup from the get go. Save yourself the headache of upgrading later.

This.

But whatever you do, don't cheap out. You can't honestly think you would get a quality set of anything suspension for $80...

What coilovers do you plan to go with?

Did you read the Suspension Review Thread?

just saying. if you were that itchy for a drop y waste money on ebay coils vs free cut springs. either way u go its still :boo:

but full Coils or bust

Ok, I initially thought you told him to cut his springs for now and save up for coilovers.

Like everyone has already mentioned, there's two options:
1) Upgraded shocks + lowering springs/coilover sleeves (non-Ebay products)
2) Full-body coilovers

i dont understand why everybody pushes people to buy coils u guys realize the most affordable coils (ff1) have a ****ty ride too
maybe the guy just wants to drop his car 1-2 inches
he even said he doesnt need em for performance

^Kind of agree, I get sick of seeing so many first responses to these kinds of threads that say "get coilovers".

Consider a few things and then make your decision...
-how bad are the roads in your area where you drive
-how low do you want to take the car
-are you doing the work or taking it to a shop to do it

If you only want to be lower then stock, maintain some comfortability and do NOT want to go lower then a finger gap(front top of tire to edge of fender) look into a shock/spring combo. Tein street basis coilovers also provide comfortability and allow you heigh adjustment. They can be had for a decent price too.

If you want to take your car lower then a finger gap...then look into FF, Ksports, Megan etc...however keep in mind that the lower you go, the less comfortable your ride will end up being due to the need that the spring rates will have to be stiffer to keep you from bottoming out on dips etc.
