Re: RR's 3.2L '99 EX-L Coupe 6MT *Wheel update*

Sealed up the barrels last night, all done. They look pretty all four sitting together, glistening. Like a bunch of hot lesbians sleeping together. :lawl:

Tires tomorrow morning. The weather just worsened here this morning, I hope the weekend will be a little nicer so I can put them on and drive it.

Damn Chris, I can't wait to see them mounted with tires..! I also had those two sets in mind, but in a bit more aggressive specs.

Nice Alex, since you're really low crazier specs will work in your favor. I hope you end up with a set you like! The nice thing is that if I want to change it up, I can, barrels don't really depreciate, you just have to find someone who has the same wheels that want some.

:jerkit: Can't wait to see them on with tires and everything. Those red center caps would have really added a nice touch, but they look amazing regardless!

The red VS caps woudl have been nice, that's too bad.

I am sure there are other options, but obviously, you don't want to have anything that is not worthy of finishing the wheels off properly.

I know, what prompted me to want those caps was the red ones I'd seen on certain LM's...they would have looked soo cool I think. But yea I don't want any that aren't 'Work' related. I will be keeping my eyes peeled though.

I do have a set of nicely finished chrome valve stem caps with a red bubble H emblem on the ends, but not sure if I'll use em.

I see. That's a risk you don't wanna take.

That's fair enough. (I still think all of your previous rims were all quality ones tho.) Yeah, I remember you used to have the RH Evolution mesh back then. I thought you were a fan of spoke rims, but I remember now. BBS for real??. ← (Man, we could be bros! Just sayin' lol.)

But honestly speaking, (regardless of your bbk's clearance) I prefer the design of VS-XX over LM's on our coupes. The LM's stepped lip looks firm yet elegant, but the lip seems a bit thicker than XX's. (Meaning that its thickness makes the LM's look smaller than XX's in terms of the wheel diameter.) Plus, the placements of those wheel bolts on XX's are a lot sexier (sportier) than LM's. LM's are nice b/c they're time-honored wheels that they pretty much suite almost anybody's eyes / any style of cars imo. But like I said, XX's are pure sex!

1 more day 'til Saturday~~.

I loved those RH Evo C2000's (not C2's), they were super rare...just not wide enough. I couldn't bring myself to cut them up for rebarreling though.

I completely agree with you about the sizes of VS vs. LM. That was a another factor, the stepped lips of the LM's make the disk look much smaller, I would have had to get 19's or 20's to get the look I wanted, and I didn't want wheels that big. Or you can reverse mount the LM disk, but that's more for increasing the rim depth.

I love your BBS wheels on your coupe, so different and looks really nice.

Only issue with the valve caps is people like to swipe those.

You don't need no stinking valve caps! Just put cheapo shiny ones on. :lawl:

I have simple shinty ones haha, they're hex shaped. I don't know if they're the originals that came with the wheels when new, or if they're just some generic replacement that took their place over time. They do have rubber on the inside of them for sealing, so they seem to be quality.

EDIT: All done

So I DEFINITELY need to get GC's, I rub on turns if I take them at a moderate pace, plus I need to close some gap. So I'll be going 1/2" - 3/4" lower. But here's a couple.

Love where the rear is at in this one.

I can't wait to make this view look better.
