Re: RR's 3.2L '99 EX-L Coupe 6MT *Wheel update*
Thank you everyone for the comments and interest.

I feel very lucky to even own a set of wheels like this.
Quality content Chris. Can't wait to see these bad boys mounted
Thanks Jordan, appreciate it. Tires come in Saturday. Looking forward to your new setup as well.
If it isn't too much trouble, i would love to take a look at that spreadsheet Chris.
Here ya go bro. VS have A, 0, and R disk. As you can see, mine fall under A.

Thought they'd be silver....
Still look good. This type of wheel and color combo looks outstanding on everything.
Christopher, if I may; why did you go with a wider wheel in the rear? Is it for "poke" reasons or are you jumping on the ol' bandwagon?
Ha no silver, all my wheels choices thus far have been “safe”, I wanted to go a little outside my comfort zone with these. The gold Algernon’s on Slowaccord’s car are what made me want gold on my setup, I couldn’t forget how much I loved it on his car. I just had to go with it lol. The gold is called ‘Sun Gold’, and is very close to the gold found on STi wheels.
The back of these cars is so big, and it seems accentuated more now without the OEM wing, so I wanted to go as wide as I could back there. I also wanted to be flush front and rear with no spacers, and with my ride height, or even -1/2”, that will be achieved. And of course the deeper the lip, the better.
Going by the height he likes, these specs should make his wheels flush.
Exactly. I may have to go a little lower to pull the fronts in…
Can't wait to see them mounted bro! These are my favorite after Work Rezax 1 Mesh..
Thanks Nikita! I got these for $800 so it was impossible to pass up.
Wheels look really good. I just think its a shame you went with such weak sizes. 18x8.5 would be good for the front. But the again everyone has different taste.
+1
Lip and face looks fantastic but I'm not a fan of the weak specs.
Here’s my rationale.
I think it’s interesting that with how prevalent the fitment scene became, suddenly wheels that don’t have crazy specs are seen as “weak”. I would say these are normal or average specs, somewhat aggressive but not too much… making them perfect for both looks and function. I would have liked to go wider in the rear actually, but then I would have been at 18x9 +25, and that would require going lower than I want to pull it off. And the reason I stayed with the original specs for the fronts is because of the BBK, there is maybe 3/16” of clearance between the caliper and the VS face now. And with my ride height (which at the max might change by ½” b/c I currently have about 1 fingergap f/r) the current front rims ( A-Spec 18x8 +45) are perfectly flush in front, so going to +38 there is already a little poke as it is.
Bottom line - to go with more aggressive specs at the front or rear I’d have to lower this car much more than ½”, which would take quite a bit of functionality away from the swap, which would be a waste. The rears look deep to me, and considering I was stuck at the front, I’m happy with the specs. At least for now.
A car doesn’t have to be slammed and have crazy fitment to look stunning. I respect the whole fitment scene, but I’m not into it as Vlad knows. Not an attack on those who are, just trying to make people remember the big picture. Thanks for the comments/opinions though, I know where you’re coming from. Believe me I thought long and hard, Kevin (Sleeper Cell) and Jake (Moneypit) were a huge help.
…I know your not into the slammed stretch n poke sh
it lol so these should fit your cars look perfectly
Haha you understand me.
Looks awesome, Chris. What kind of center caps will you be putting?
Looking fwd to seeing them on your car.
Thanks man. I really wanted this cap, but they only fit the 20” VS.
I’m considering one or two others because I wanted to do something different, but they are so overpriced. I may end up just using the originals for now.
