    H22 Swap

Wow didn't realize you got cams in there now. Congrats! I wasn't aware the Type S cams have so much kick in them. The Skunks seem to better them only after 6800 rpm or so. I was planning to go with the tuner series stage2 but now I don't know, I don't really want to rev it in that range that...

    For those with an h22

If you stick with the Accord I'd say go swap over turbo F23. It will make more power cheaper and more reliably. With an H22 you won't have to upgrade the clutch or obstruct the radiator with an intercooler. The only way I'm going turbo is if I lay down the cash for a proper clutch, like an...

    Frankenstein V6 Swap - J32a2 and J35a8

Mmm I see, I found a long long thread full of information on frank motors, but yeah nobody tried this one. Well I guess the J32A2 the way it is would be what I would go for if I had a V6. The compression ratio leaves a bit of room for that Comptech SC too.

Mine is still not done yet...lol It makes some noises I don't like and some of the mounts aren't torqued down properly. I wouldn't expect this to be a weekend job, even the most talented such as Drift had some time invested in it. Big lesson learned for me was that the H22 is an old engine...

    Frankenstein V6 Swap - J32a2 and J35a8

I would take the J32a2 block complete over any combination of other J parts. It has the best cooling, sleeves, head, and bore to stroke ratio. The only upgrade that makes sense to me would be the RL cams.

Swapping cars from 4cyl model to 6

Awesome! I definitely want to complete my H22 project if possible. Given that I'll register it again this year I will also paint all the carbon fiber to be even more low key.

Swapping cars from 4cyl model to 6

I've seen some of the posts. I wonder if those mods would pass inspection, the bottom end would be stock VIN, the fuel management is the only concern I think. The J32A2 + Comptech SC would be killer and probably ref approved with a little work to maintain all OBD II gear. On the other hand any...

Swapping cars from 4cyl model to 6

Yep, I don't mind cutting costs where it doesn't matter. On the other hand I can sell the auto trans if it does work and I don't want too much millage on the odo since after all I will use the engine. Either way the V6 is the way to go I think, the fastest way to go legal if I have to. I was...

Swapping cars from 4cyl model to 6

My peak torque is about 200lb/ft and it comes early, at 5200rpm but that's still a peak and after boltons. I suspect the J30 torque if far higher if you look at area under the curve, then there are boltons. I can definitely use more power coming out of turns, or a shorter 2, 3 gear.

Swapping cars from 4cyl model to 6

I know the auto sucks that's the reason I didn't buy the V6 to begin with, that and the 6speed swaps were not done back then, I would swap over to a 6speed for sure. That combo is just as potent as my h22 and legal in so. cal.

I wasn't planning on it but now I know nobody that will be willing. I guess I'll just makes 20 stops and if no one wants the extra cash I'll undergo the swap. I also need to know this for a 'just in case' scenario. As much as I like the Coupe I need more powah to make it worth it! With the...

Swapping cars from 4cyl model to 6

So lately I've been freaking out about my future on the street. Registration has to be renewed and all my contacts have been busted. While I do love the H22 and I will try to keep it, I can't help but think there is a possibility that either I might not be able to renew my registration or have...

A clearly stolen thread : What engine/body combo would you like?

I also wouldn't mind a Nazca C2 with 4 Hayabusa engines mated toghether to form a W16 that weighs 400lbs, 900hp 500lb/ft torque. Total curb weight should remain 2200 lbs. Shouldn't weigh more than the original BMW v12 that aged significantly in there. Of course there would be some issues...

A clearly stolen thread : What engine/body combo would you like?

It's old but whatevs... I would just update the McLaren F1: steal the cam shifting design from the K20, direct fuel injection. Umm yeah, that's about it.

    HP/liter figures meaningless?

Good point on the racing classes, I suppose that does make for a good case. On the street though, it doesn't matter much. I really hope my H22 only weighs that much, a K20 with transmission and fully dressed is over 400lbs and I know that's lighter than the H22 +f23 transmission combo. In...

    HP/liter figures meaningless?

Well I'm wasn't claiming anything about the car itself, it's simply an engine comparison. There are higher hp/lb engines out there compared to the rotaries, like this: http://www.h1v8.com/page/page/1562069.htm 400hp out of 200lbs. And may I dare say it will last a lot longer doing it's...

    HP/liter figures meaningless?

It's a fairly well established measuring stick for engine performance. Over the years we have found forced induction powerplants to be in a different category. The noteworthy newcomers have been the S2000 with 120hp/liter all motor, and more recently the Ferrari 458 Italia stole the crown with...

    For those with an h22

You can't handle it ha ha. 1. First setup I had a 3 foot by 6 inch round resonator, Apexi WS2 mufflers and Magnaflow cat. Quite enough and sounded good, clearance was really bad, some speed bumps a no go. 2. Resonator above destroyed while in the canyons. So this second setup I had two 18...

    For those with an h22

People say lots of things on the internet so I wanted to verify it. The motor makes 200lb/ft torque or so at the flywheel which to me is not wimpy at all. Church man himself saw the dyno and he said I made as much power as an S2000 on his dyno but about 30lb/ft of torque more. The trick from...

Car tuning: is it worth it?

I'd love to race mine at some point this year too. I just got the Powerslot big rotor kits in the other day, I want to see if they take the proverbial 'heat'. Hopefully the 3rd. alignment job will be a charm and then I'll be set.
