Ok, I tried jumping the starter by clipping a jumper lead to the starter from the positive terminal on the battery and it wouldn't crank. I also put a test light lead on the starter lead and the negative terminal, and when I turned the ignition the light came on. So it seems like It's safe to...- qbrew

They dim just a tad. That's even with the new battery. I had been testing with the dome light, and like a moron, left it on. So I am waiting for the battery to recharge and I will try the other suggestions.- qbrew

I have a 2001 Honda Accord EX Sedan 4cyl that won't crank. When I turn the ignition, the starter doesn't engage. Lights work, all accessories work, and brand new battery that tests good. Can you good people please point me in the direction to diagnose the issue? I'll be searching the forum...- qbrew
