Has anyone ever bored and sleeved our engine to be a 2.5 liter. It sounds like a sweet idea to do in the down the road. An F25a4 ahaha but ya if I or anyone to do this what all would be needed? New cylinders? Rods? What? And how much of a hp gain would you guess? Like 5 or like 50 thanks for reading, just thought I'd put this idea out there for ya'll to think about!

Seriously.

There's a lot of info in 6GA - set a goal and do it, too many questions. Not enough answers, just results - search.

there was one dude on AT that did that to his 5th gen... stroked it out to 2.56 i think was the exact # so 2.5/2.6... he didnt get major HP gains but got some pretty noticeable TQ gains. Not much HP gains because it still red lined short. When he boosted it tho, good numbers started to come in.

if you build it right, you will see noticeable gains.
look at ken (nasohc) his build was same stroke and bore. but he made it with a high compression, cam, and some head work. he gained about 20 hp and tq.

what you can do is bore and stroke it to a 2.5 and up the compression say to 11.0:1, with cam and head work. you will probably see at least 50 hp and tq gain.

it all depands on how much $$$ you got.

NASOHC saw alot more than 20 hp and ft/lbs. He did 170 at the wheels iirc, which would translate to a gain of about 40 each.

Resleeving (is that a word?) an f23 and boring seems like alot of money and work for what you would get out of it. And, you would still be dealing with a head that doesn't want to flow much.

you want to get real power... get a new car lol...

its gonna be tough and costly to squeeze that much power NA. even when you get that high, it requires a tune as well so good luck
