Hey guys, i'm a little bit confused about our kframes, do we only have one front (beam) and one rear kframe that bolts onto each other?
Reason i asked is that i'm changing the rear one, its getting rusty (different mechanics told me its because the ac water is dripping straight to the frame) I'm getting the part for it but i somehow got confused and thought that the frame comes in one piece all together.

There are two pieces to the K-frame. They are different from 4cyl to 6cyl. The pics below are from a 4cyl.

First half - Holds the front motor mount and radius rods. Has 3 bolt holds on either side that connect to the rear half.

Rear half - holds the steering rack, sway bar, and control arms

There is also the rear K-frame (rear of vehicle) which usually causes some of the confusion. Most people/places don't understand that the front half is indeed 2 pieces.

Glad to help.

Oh man, glad i read that, this is the part i got confused. A lot places just post it as front and rear frames but don't specify that the front is 2 pieces as well like you mentioned.
When i showed my mechanic a pic very similar to your first pic, he told me i only needed the other part of this but kept saying rear so i initially thought he was talking about the rear one until he explained that he needs the one that bolts to front part. Very confusing if you never dealt with it.

Yea...tell me about it. I worked at a national junkyard quoting this stuff to body shops and insurance adjusters for 4yrs. Talk about people who don't know what the hell they're looking at...

Yeah i spoke with few them, probably got on their nerves but better than purchasing the wrong part. It was a pain to finally found one though, shipping will cost me just as much as the part itself lol. Hopefully this will be the last time i buy any frames

I had to replace mine as well. I guess its pretty popular to have it rust out. Took me forever to find one, lol.

Hey guys quick question, I've just installed the kframe which was a pain the *** to do it but everything seems to be in working order except my alignment is a little bit off. Do you think a wheel alignment would be able to solve it?
