damn..... an all round car guy who knows motors and paint :omgbd:

tht car is gonna be sick jason

I don't know paint that well. I just have some good friends who know their stuff, and a nice supervisor who used to be in the business and has agreed to spray it for me.

staying with the OEM paint??

Man, I actually was considering going with a really dark blue or just black so I could clean it up when I wanted to. Silver just doesn't pop all that well, even when its waxed up. But... after debating back and forth, I figured it'd just be easier to respray the whole thing the OE satin silver metallic, and do a good buffing job on it.

In fact Eric, I photoshopped your own car to get an idea of what it might look like. My biggest concern was having something to match the gold wheels, which I really want to keep. Here's the two colors I was considering.

Jason, you should look into Carbon Bronze Metallic......beautiful color, kinda black with bronze flake. I know they used it on the RDX, not sure what else........

Just spent a few hours wet sanding all the spots where body filler was used. I also used some bondo (cringes) on the rear quarter where I bowled over a concrete flower pot. I need to fill a little more on a couple spots and re-sand them. I'll post some pictures up before I retire for the night.

I actually like the dark blue.... it has a very unique look to it

I think so too. I wanted something OEM color-ish looking that didn't make the car stick out like a sore thumb, but also something that people would look at and go, that's so pretty, it CAN'T be stock...

Unfortunately, I don't think it fits with the gold wheels at all.

This car shall turn out well.

NEVER refer to the build as a "Prelude engine"! NEVAR!!

jk man... I'll never consider it an "H22" though. It'll be a frankenstein with an H22 head and F23 block, but never an "H22 swap".

Dude, I told myself I was just gonna go with the satin silver, maybe even alabaster silver from the newer Hondas, but a black with bronze flake sounds freakin delicious! I'm definitely gonna check that out before I buy the paint! I also need to check and make sure the local shop can get that.

You know, I always like the V6 coupes that were black with the gold emblems and gold pin-striping, even though everyone else seems to hate them. Thanks for the idea!

Alright, checked out the carbon bronze metallic, and it's very similar to polished metal metallic, a color that I had considered, but again ruled out because of the gold wheels.

HOWEVER! I'm going to see if someone can mix a black paint with gold or bronze flake and spray a sample for me. :)

Some updates, and a teaser... I'll get some good shots up after I've wet-sanded the clear and cleaned up some runs.
