Hey friends, just have a few things maybe you guys could enlighten me on:

~When I apply the brakes, at any speed, my car veers a bit to the right; like the steering wheel actually jerks a bit to the right. I've replaced the front rotors and pads, and I've had an alignment too, and it still occurs. ???

~The motor whines when I first start it up, only when its cold. I'm thinking the alternator is going bad.

~Also, as of recent, whenever I come to a complete stop, or take off from a stop, I hear what appears to sound like a "rubbing" noise occurring by my front passenger wheel. It doesn't continue to make this noise throughout the rest of the drive, only when I come to a complete stop, or go from a stop. No plastic or rubber is actually rubbing, I've already checked. Is this a sign of possibly a bad shock?

Any input you guys have is greatly appreciated.
Thanks again.

Your front right caliper is frozen, and will need replacement. That covers problem 1 and 3.

For problem 2, have you checked you power steering fluid level?

I have and its been just a bit lower than usual, so I filled it up to the proper mark. Has been fine since.

And you said the caliper? Is that a big task to take on by myself? Or should I just let a shop handle it?

If you have the tools, then its a pretty easy repair. I am wondering why the shop who did your brakes. Seizing calipers will cause the pads to wear extremely un-even.

Have you had this problem in the past? or only when you had your breaks installed.

When you start your car in the morning, put your head near the powersteering pump. If you hear it whining from there, then its just a tired power-steering unit. They go bad eventually...

Yep, replacing calipers is easy.

I'd recommend new pads up front as well. Just remove the two 12mm (or 14mm?) holding the slide pins to the caliper bracket and the 14mm or so bolt holding the brake line to the caliper. Be sure to use NEW brass washers on the line and make sure it's NOT twisted. The brake line is ribbed and probably has a line on it to make sure it's not kinked.

Do some diagnosis first. Try to compress the piston with a large channel locks (adjustable pliers) with the bleeder open. If the piston travels back easily, it's not a seized caliper it's a collapsed rubber brake line. I wouldn't attempt that repair without a torch or you could be making yourself some new brake lines.

Make sure the caliper you buy is the right one. Mounted on the car, the bleeder should be facing up. Don't forget to bleed the brakes when you're finished!

Wow you guys are awesome. Thanks for all the input.

I hope it is in fact the caliper you are talking about, because now with every bump and kink in the road i hit, i can hear the noise.

Turns out that I had a bad control arm, and 2 bad ball joints on the passenger side. Upper and lower. Firestone wanted 800 bucks to fix it, so I took it to my mechanic, and he charged me 550 :D
