You just have to mod the dizzy connector for the h series dizzy. And just make sure you use obd2 injectors so the plug right up to the harness. Everything else is plug and play.

diagram for this? or diy on wiring distrubutor?

I think you have to depin both the dizzy and crank sensor tabs (extend the wires for crank sensor) and if needed cut and solder to connecting tab make sure the colors of the wires match to the same color on the tab......
When I did it for my h22a4 sh!t confuse me at first till I found h-t thread on it. I didnt have to extend the crank sensor but the wiring was thicker on the h22a4 dizzy and it looked kinda jenky but it worked/started lol

So the modding is just adapting the distributor to work with the different series block/head? So its not at all a technical thing?

Yes if your were to connect from wires from an obd2 wire harness to an obd1......basically its the same concept that can be used on obd2 motor just match the colors
