pulleys are one of the worst things to put on a car. The crank one often misses the damper, the underdriving part makes your accessories anemic, your alternator may not even charge at idle, they slip, make noise need I say more. I'm taking off the PS Undorthodox oem sized pulley out tomorrow. I hate ****ty aftermarket parts and unfortunately that's most of them.

This is 100% absolutey UNTRUE!!! Everyone on the internet talks about how they heard or read that pulleys are bad for their cars, or they heard about how someone's engine blew up, and none of those people ever owned a pulley set.

I owned that exact pulley set in silve n my 2000 Honda Accord F23 5-Speed. That pulley set did none of the things described by "the internet." Infact, in all honestly, I do not believe it did anything at all. I did not notice an increase or decrease in power, in speed, in electrical power, in a/c strength. I never dyno'd the part to see if its addition made any more power, but I know FOR A FACT, that it does not harm the vehicle in anyway whatsoever (at least the AEM Tru-Pulley kit does not).

I'm so confident that that product does not do any harm, I'm thinking about investing in a kit for my 2005 Dodge SRT-4 to see if it makes a difference in power in an SRT-4. I personally think, it behaves much like a lightened fly-wheel, it speeds things up as far as turning cycles and revolutions, but is not too measurable. However, every bit counts.

So, PLEASE stop spreading the disease that these pulleys make power anemic (although I don't recommend the pulley kit if you have a system just incase). I had my kit on my Honda for 2 years. Power was never anemic, the alternator never failed to charge at idle, it never slipped, and it never made noise. Infact, I ran nitrous oxide and road raced my car with the pulley on it and it made none of those negative reactions.

Please, please, please stop criticizing a part you've never owned. This goes for everyone. Enough of I heard, I read, I saw, I thought. Find out for real.

. . .I never dyno'd the part to see if its addition made any more power. . .

I have, on multiple different engines in fact. There was absolutely no difference in power or torque measured at the wheels. We did have to replace a couple alternators and power steering pumps due to the fact that they were being over driven though.

The only pulley worth anything is a Fluidyne. And thats only if you have you rotating assembly balanced with it in place as you build a short block.

I was happy with my AEM set. My battery was healthy prior to the alternator pulley but slowly died (suspect underdriving didn't charge it up much on short trips).

Car felt smoother and more driveable, kind of like when you change plugs/wires. Not really an HP/TQ increase.
