Glad to hear that man!! I wanna see these results. So how does street tune work? The tuner just drives it down a straight away and tweaks it that way instead of using a dyno? Is it cheaper?

Re: AFAccord's 2000 Accord Coupe EX

When I street tune, we hook up the wideband and laptop to the car, and I drive while my tuner rides ***** and makes adjustments.

We hit all the part-throttle cells by logging the maps while I make 1000rpm-redline pulls, keeping the MAP sensor at a certain level, then he makes adjustments to eveything in that column as needed, and move on to the next column of MAP values, all the way up to a full WOT pull. He can adjust fuel and a little timing, but until it's on a dyno, we can't adjust the cam gear.

We then go on the highway and just cruise so he can log my closed-loop values, and adjust accordingly, as well as work out any kinks at throttle tip-in and fuel cut settings.

My tuner street tunes my car for free, and waives his fee for dyno tuning, which still comes out to $250-300 for dyno time. I usually just buy him lunch when we're out, and occasionally hook him up with computer parts and other random junk of no real value other than for tinkering with.

I believe it's bulb design. I've noticed that the exact placement of the filament (I know it's not called this since HIDs use gas, not a tungsten filament) has a great impact on how well the projector disburses and controls the light. Since most non D2S/D2R HID bulbs are simply D2S/D2R bulbs that have been re-based, there's likely room for error when getting the correct length of the bulb during the manufacturing process. I mean, there's probably no real 'standard' for manufacturing tolerances of aftermarket HID bulbs like there is in the OEM market since anything not D2S/D2R isn't really an OEM product by it's very nature.

That's just my theory. I've been through about 6 sets of bulbs from different distributors, and found my preferred bulbs to be from 3bspec.com. They just seem to give me the sharpest cut off, and best output compared to other bulbs, and their customer service is awesome.

Nice looking car man. I wish I knew how to do the projecter retrofit, without being worried bout messing up a set of new housings.
