I'm looking to trade or sell this whip for $$$ or a mountain bike :D
Paid almost $600 for bike with tax and spent another $500+ on upgrades. I can sell or trade it upgraded or stock.

Well, that WTP is up for grabs still BUT....

I just got a 2010 GT Peace 29er (singlespeed) on a trade for another bike I had and well... I'm hooked on this thing. Took it up my local trail this morning and WOW! Very impressed with the way it climbs, descends and handles. Never thought i'd actually get a 29" MTbike but I'm sure this bike will be a keeper. Still, looking for a FS along the way,

QUESTION: I want to change the rear gearing to 22 instead of 18 (stock) but since this is my first single speed and all... need help sourcing out part/s. Is it a simple ring gear change (I'd hate to have to spend on a whole new hub and all) - please help!

Thanks.

I'll post a picture soon.

I know we have couple of mechanics here so I thought I'd post my situation here and get some input.

I just finished building my new bike and I'm using full Red except the cassette. I'm currently using a used DA7800 cassette that my biddy gave me. Turns out the 4 large cogs are worn out because it's not grabbing when I use it. I decided to buy an ultegra 6700 to replace it and had my mechanic replace it. He then told me that it's not shifting to the largest cog because the gear ratio of SRAM and Shimano is a bit different. Ive read on the forum that people uses the same setup with no problem. He suggested me that I better get the SRAM cassette and just return the ultegra cassette to avoid the trouble.

My setup is 53/39 and 12-25. When he is shifting it on 53 and 25, thats when it's skipping and just goes back to 23. I'm thinking could it be because of the cross chain? Or I should be able to use all the gear setup regardless of the setup?

My mechanic didnt charged me after doing all of this btw Would like to hear some input.

It's almost fall! That means I'm always looking for a new mountain bike. Current interest: full suspension 26'ers (4-5 inches of travel)

I have been keeping an eye on the 2011 Treks since they are in closeout. I do not need a new bike, but I always want one haha. I should probably go road bike, or single speed because I tend to need an extra one of those when I have friends/family over.

haha I'm the same way. I've had my Trek 6000zx since 1st year of highschool and I love it, it's been a great bike. But we just bought my wife a new Seven Two FX. Such a nice lady's bike, though she complains about the seat. I laugh when I tell her my seat is 11 years old and rock hard.

If I did get a new one though, I can't decide whether I'd want another mountain bike, or get a road bike. We live right on a long bike trail, so road would be nice, but I've always preferred mountain bikes. I don't mind working harder to keep my speed up on pavement.
