So, I did my H22 swap a few months ago. Yes, its a little quicker. But, I always want more power. If you haven't read about my swap, here's my current engine stats: JDM H22, Eagle forged rods and Mahle 11.5 to 1 pistons, Cometic head gasket, ARP Head studs, ARP Main studs, ARP rod studs, stock crank & stock head. Bolt ons include header, test pipe, catback, intake. Ignition is MSD coil & Accel wires. I also have a VAFC2. The motor was rebuilt about 1k miles ago, by myself. New rings, bearings, gaskets, belts, etc.

I daily drive the car, so I built it for reliability. My goal is to be able to still drive it daily, but also have some power for the occassional street battle/ track meet. Before you suggest it, no I don't have money for a turbo otherwise it would have one.

My Question is, is there anyone running a H22 who has reliably been running nitrous for a while, like more than 1yr. If so, what system and jet. (NOS, ZEX, 50 shot, 60 shot?)

From what I have heard the H22's respond very well to nitrous, other than that I don't personally know how reliable it would be on a daily driven car.

I have a second car, 01 GS300. So, I'm not extremely worried about 100% uptime with the car. Its old, so If something happens, it happens. I'm just looking for opinions on using Nitrous regularly on a properly built daily driver.

spray it. just make sure the cars tuned with it. thats all. nitrous is very safe if the cars tuned to the shot and if you monitor your wideband while spraying. nitrous>turbo for daily driver every day of the week. don't go by the fast and the furious when it comes to nitrous haha. I'm about to hit my car with a 225 shot (i have a "built" v6 so don't spray my size shot). i would spray a 75-100 shot if you have all the supporting mods and a free flowing exhaust. nitrous needs a free flowing exhaust. if you really want to go crazy while keeping the stock bottom end throw on some arp head studs and build the head. also don't spray a dry shot. shoot a single nozzle at least 6" away from the throttle body so it doesn't puddle, my guess the kit your getting has a 1/32" nozzle, which is fine for a small shot. personally i would run a direct port shot so each cylinder gets the same amount of nitrous but that gets expensive. get a bottle warmer, i doubt you want to be like some of my fox body buddies who take a blow torch to the bottle before spraying and buy a purge kit too. cold fusion nitrous has some quality kits for cheap so check them out.

Thanks, but I guess you didnt read that I have a built bottom end. I had a few buddies back before fast & furious who ran nitrous on their untuned street cars, same setup I am thinking of 50, 60,75 shot wet NOS, Probably single fogger. I have a spare intake manifold, but not the funds to drill for direct port or buy the kit.

Jetlife, are you saying NOS is better than zex? I know NOS claims their systems are the best, but going to school at UTI my hot rod instructor claimed it doesn't matter which brand.

Nitrous all comes from the same place. Some brands solenoids are better than others as well as the jets.
