my turbo project is done, I'll have pics of everything soon. I only pushed 5 pounds of boost to be on the safe side and thats what my internal waste gate opens at. I made 170 HP and 174 foot pounds of torque. I want to push 8-9 pounds of boost but im not sure whats safe for our engines. The tuner said I could raise the boost up to 10lbs but anything past that the MAP sensor wouldnt be able to read. I was wondering what plugs people have gone with and what do you have them gapped to?

nice, search for answers but i remember ~220whp is safe if you want your engine running a while, just dont run it hard for long periods of time. our ring lands are the first to go on the f23. and i got some ngk's 1 step colder gapped to around .028"

ngk bkr7e plugs. what turbo are you running? thats pretty low numbers for that boost level. sounds like a t2 flanged turbo. not trying to knock your build it all. more infor on the setup for sure maybe we can find a way to gain some more ponies for you without spending a ton more.

I have a T28 greddy dual ball bearing turbo. I have 2 1/2 inch exhaust from the turbo back, no cat. I have RDX fuel injectors,255 walboro fuel pump. I have a AEM version 2 computer. I was not happy either with the numbers. when I took the car for a test drive with the tuner it was kinda of dissapointing and i let him know how i felt. I guess they struggled with setting up the vtec and had to bring in a honda tuner to put some software in to the aem to mess with it. they had to mess with the plug gaps and timing also. they told me they were at the shop till 3am working on my car. so im not sure if they just didn't have the experience or they just plan sucked. one of the guys said i was boosting to low and 5 psi was not enough boost for my turbo to be efficent. I have already ordered a adjustable internal waste gate thats set from 7psi to 25psi. I want to put it around 9 pounds and see what the difference is. what do you think my numbers should be with five pounds of boost?

at 7 pounds i was pushing 252 hp. going off of that, 5 pounds should put you a lot closer to 200. If your tuner had to call in a Honda guy, I'd say he doesn't know what he is doing and Id probably take it to someone else if I were you.
I believe I'm gapped at .02 or .025.

me or him?
After tune and all said and done, around $3000. I buy good name brands most of the time though. And my tune alone cost $500.

T28 is kind of a small turbo.. At 5 psi that's no surprise. This also means that with a good tune you can push up to 10 psi safely on this turbo, but DEFINITELY upgrade the MAP sensor, they are only good to 10.66 psi and you don't even want to risk getting that close!!!

With a 57 trim Turbonetics I made 214, and now Snoobly is making 252 with his tune on my old turbo. It's really all due to the turbo you have, and mostly the tuning! Can't believe those guys took forever and had issues.

Get a 3 bar map sensor by Friday that's my best advice.

I'd like to see Akoutmos' input on this too.

Good gap for plugs is 0.028-0.030
