Silverstars are garabge. Stay away from blue tinted bulbs you lose light output all you get is color. Believe it or not stock halogens put out more light than Silverstars. Silverstars and similar tinted bulbs give the illusion of more light it's your eyes playing tricks on your mind bascially.

Yep, you're right I used to have this blue tinted bulbs and they looked great but the OEM Halogen got more output; anyways I got 8000k HID now and I just bought the JDM yellow bulbs for High Beam also my OEM Fogs lights have this yellow capsule so I'll keep the OEM Halogen on 'em.

I know that silverstars are a blue tinted bulb obviously. But for some reason, i have found them to have better visability than the stock lights. This was on my talon and my accord. My talon had horrid lighting, made a noticeable difference. My accord was negligable but looks better. I can't explain why, it doesn't make sence but this is what i have noticed. Dsm guys love these bulbs as the stock lighting is awful. For the price, they are great. I love mine.

Well like I said it's a deception of the eye. Whiter light does look like it produces more but in reality it doesn't. I believe DOT requires bulbs to emit anywhere from 800-1100 lumens to be legal. Silverstars are around 900 compared to run of the mil 55w halogens at 1000-1100..but believe me I can understand where you are coming from it does appear to give more light..I was under this impression for a good 5 years

The "Cool Blue" version, IMO is just about the same as the silverstars as far as how well I can see. There is only a minor difference when you look at the 2 side by side, looking directly at the light housing. I used Silverstars for about a year, and was replacing them about every 2 months, and I went back to Cool Blue's (which I had used before) and now I change them once every 8 months or so, and save myself a boatload up front on price as well. I think Silverstars are crap as far as how long they last, and I'll never buy them again because of that. I went through 8-12 bulbs in a year, which is ridiculous. I do a lot of night driving, so I use them a lot, granted, but it's still a noticeable difference, IMO...

That's crazy, i've had mine for like 2-3 years now. I've had them longer than my accord. I just swapped them from my talon when i bought my accord since i didn't drive my talon at night when i had both. It's been atleast 2 years though, no problems.

Well, they must have nothin' but duds here in Ohio then maybe... I bought one set on my way to Bristol, TN too. Half of my driving is at night though, too, so maybe I use them a lot more than you, I don't know. I've still got stock high beams (since the car was new) but I hardly use them at all...

Yeah, i don't drive that much at night but i'm sure i have done atleast as much as you would do in 2 months over 2 + years. Weird though, i always thought there were quality. Maybe they used to be but started to suck. Or maybe i got really lucky either way. 2 month, i would complain about them too ;)
