When you purchase a high output alternator, you must upgrade your alt+ to batt +. Small stock wiring cannot handle the amperage that the new high output alternator will try and pass through it. All high output alternators highly recommend replacing this wire. If you dont, there really isnt much point in putting the HO alt in the first place.

Take the time and read the thread. The same question was asked at least four times.

Already read the thread over from beggining to end...reason why i asked ONCE again was as there have been different answers...

alternator to batter is not ground. you don't need to fuse any ground wires.

our alternator is rated at 80 amps (i think), so that's all the higher you'd really need.

but 1/0 wire can handle over 150amps of current, so that's about the max you'd want. (i used 150)

Mighty Mike your going to want to use a 250-300A ANL fuse.

um, 200amp is too big. I would use like a 30-50 amp. IIRC the stock alt only had an 80 amp output

Doesn't seem to difficult to me. Some where between a 80-150 at the very most. Since the stock alternator "shouldn't" put out more than 80, you really shouldn't go bigger than that.

After years of prolonged usage, the stock 80amp alt more than likely wont be putting out 80 amps anyways. A 100Amp fuse is perfect for a stock alternator.

I read through this like 5 times but I still want to clarify...if someone would be so very kind?

I need to replace/add:
- Battery neg - chassis (easy enough)
- Battery pos - alternator pos
- Alternator neg - chassis

Right? and from the OP's instructions, the alternator-chassis is where its conneted to the strutbar?

Also, how much (in feet) wire would I need to do all 3, on a V6 engine?

Thanks

^^ Block means the whole engine/alternator/everything else right? I assumed I could just use the alternator and it should work?

Also, how much wire would I need, anyone? lol roughly
