Ok. I would like a few opinions from other accord people.
I have a 6thgen Accord DX <--Please remeber the DX part when thinking aobut this since the engine is a little different from other accords.

So first of all the bad part! My clutch is breathing it's final few breaths and
I need a new one. So I can get a good aftermarket clutch or a stock clutch,
or find something for cheap.
The reason for the cheap clutches is because I am saving up for a power upgrade (H22?). So wouldn't getting an expensive clutch for my stock
engine would be a waste of money. (Unless it's compatible with an H22.
I'm not sure.)

Now for the other things. My birthday is coming up and my family wants go
get me a nice gift for the car. And I get to choose the gift!

Also, I have saved up about a grand specifically for my power upgrade.

So basically I need to make a desicion on the clutch and on my gift.
Now I think that probably if I ask to get money as a gift I can get
an engine swap by the end of this Summer. (Although I may be able to have
the money for it by then regardless.)
Also my car could use new tires (my sleelies have new tires, but my alloys are really worn out.) But the thing with the tires is that I'm not sure what size I want I can get either 215/45/17 or 205/45/17. The reason to get smaller tires is obviously to save gas, but then I should get a new set of rims speciffically for autocross.
My car could use a new front bumper as well.
And I sort of want to get a carputer.

Ok so basically: What should I do about the clutch? What should I get as a gift? And in terms of power for my car is there a better option for me other than the H22?

So what are averyone's opinion on this? I want to see other people's logic before I make my final decision.

Whatever clutch you get will work w/ the H22. Though I'd wait till you swap the motor but if its going bad now then you might as well do it. I'd say maybe have your rents help pay for the motor or buy you your tires, I'd suggest 225/45/17. It really won't affect your gas mileage much.

I can smell teh clutch burning now. So it will be gone very soon.

You think I should go as big as 225? It seems like they will stick out a lot.
And would they fit on 17*7 rims? I don't want to get spend money on new rims as well.

do the clutch first and as blackcurrant stated, it will swap over to the H22... if ur motor still runs good, just use tht first till summer... as for tires, 225/45/17 will fit onto a 17X7 rims

Well yes clutch first. It would be dumb to have a car with really nice tires but no clutch.

Can anyone estimate the difference in gas mileage between 205 and 225 tires?

Thanks

OK! So should I get exedy (sp?) stage 1 or stage 2 clutch?
And is there a DIY out there for clutch replacement? I want to see if
I have the tools to do it myself before I just send it off to a shop.
Thanks.
