CanAm Meet 2009

It's time to start a thread for this. Derek (Damage2000), Kevin (Goldnknight) and myself are organizing this years Canada/US meet. We are going to make this meet a three day event, and it will be held on the weekend of the 29th to the 31st of May, on the Canada side of Niagra Falls.

Please make sure maintenance is up to date on your car. US residents can get in/out of Canada with just a DL until the 31st of May. After that date, new laws take effect requiring a passport to cross the border. No one wants to get stuck in Canada with a broken vehicle..........

Myself and Kevin organizing people from the US side, and we will be inviting people from the following sites:

Some of the events we will be planning are:

Cruise for the Cause to benefit the Cancer Society
Cruise through the Niagra Region
Car Show with possible media coverage
Meet and greet at a local park with a barbeque

Derek has some connections with one of the members of TAC whose parents I believe own a Hotel in the area as well.

Right now I am just gauging interest. If you are interested or have any questions please post in this thread.

As we get a bit closer I will start to clean things up and confirm who is actually going.

I hope to see some huge support from our US peeps, Justin, Kevin and Greg are setting the bar pretty high by being willing to make a significant trek up here. In the next month or so, there will be an official website posted for people to sign up/Register and print waiver forms from.

The TAC Member, SAV(Sagar) that has the motel(s) connection will provide info on rates for those people who might be interested in those accomodations. Also, I STRONGLY recommend people check out the hotel deals on http://www.travelzoo.com/ as there are various hotels in Niagara Falls, Ontario that offer room/dinner/buffet breakfast packages for great prices(CDN$89+/night). Those deals are usually found on the "Top 20" list that comes out every Wednesday.

I want to thank Justin and Kevin for helping out with this event for the US side of the planning!

Hope to see more of the 6GA and other Accord/TL/CL/TSX/Prelude club member's make it out to one of the biggest Events to start off the '09 season!

Nevermind looked it up:

Apparently you can get into Canada with a valid State I.D., however the U.S. requires a Citizen to flash a passport on return (doesn't make a lick of sense). How the hell would a U.S. Citizen be allowed into Canada and not be allowed to return? hahaha rediculous

Still researching.....
