im sorry, but there is no way on earth that a mk2 jetta with an old, stock, 23 year old 1.8L is 'faster' than even a j30 6g with a manual swap. even brand new that jetta would not be quicker than the accord. either your accord had performance problems, or youre just excited because its your 'dream car'.​

Its rated at 123 hp at the crank, stock, brand new in 1989

I'm skeptical about that was well. I'm having a hard time seeing believing that it could be faster than a 5spd f23 let alone a 6spd j30. I think maybe it feels faster to him because it's a smaller car and like my 240sx, you get an adrenaline rush because it feels like your driving a go-kart.
