well put in a new headgasket and now my car is smoking... could it be the headgasket thats not seating properly or cheap headgasket that i used (ebay 20 bucks HG)? i knew i should have just spent the extra cash and got a OEM honda HG.... car never smoked before... smoke is white (smokes right when i start it and when i get on the gas, and stops at idle)... :crazyrun:

Did you assemble everything correctly? I'm betting something is wrong there..

Also, why would you use an eBay $20 head gasket? Nothing but OEM parts when it comes to gaskets and internals like that.. But c'mon, EBAY generic?? Damn.. that's a new kind of fail.

white smoke means coolant. not as bad as leaking oil. just buy an OEM head gasket and make sure the surface of the gasket and the block and head are CLEAN. also i've seen some people put a tiny bit of silicone...not sure if that helps. i would go without it though. good luck!!

EDIT: i just want to make it clear that white smoke doesn't always mean coolant...just a "most likely" kind of thing.

Looks like your gonna have to do double work. Take it all out. Go buy an OEM gasket and replace it cuz your probably leaking coolant bc you didn't put it in properly.

Also don't forget to tighten everything down to spec. By that I mean torque specs and sequence. Good luck.

So, why did you do the head gasket in the first place? Was it leaking? did the engine over heat?

When ever I pull a head off a car, I usually send it to the machine shop to have it decked, just to be sure that there arent any issues later.

I like the felpro gaskets with the sealant on them. I've had really good luck with them, even on motors I've not had the head milled.
