My SE has the cable and the remote button release. You want me to get a picture of that arrangement?

I am taking it to have the whole alarm/remote start system installed today. For $100 I couldn't pass it up. He said he would wire up the electric trunk opener too. So I will get pics and check wires so I can advise how to do this mod from start to finish.

Thanks though James.

I'm pretty sure the gas shock opener won't work simply because of the design of the hinge mechanism that's used (it's different than say, the hood shocks on V6 Accords). Actually, it might work if you could attach it to the actual arm inside the trunk rather than the lid, but it will likely take lots of testing to get the angles right so nothing binds.

You may or may not be aware, but there is more than one "torsion bar" available and two adjustment rungs for the bar that comes in our cars. I have an EX coupe that came with a spoiler from the factory, which comes with a stiffer torsion bar to compensate for the heavier trunk lid. I removed the spoiler and shaved the holes a while back but didn't change the torsion bar. Whenever I pop the trunk now, it opens up on it's own.
