Back to the top for some answers! Really would like to know a civilized way to remove this trim!

I know some of you have done cosmetic overhauls of your cars for paint and body work. I suppose everyone just swiped their cards and let the body shop do the real work??

The trim I'm referring to:

There is a special tool to remove the lower chrome trim. I was able to remove my lower trim without the tool but was not able to remove the upper. I only broke one clip! I will NOT be doing that again. I would just tape it up and clean the overspray with laquer thinner or mineral spirits later.

That last piece in the photos is one big piece. There's really no way to cleanly spray it with the trim in place because of the way it's designed. :/

I found a sedan at the junk yard with black trim and it looks factory. I don't know what model it was but it had manual windows.

The sedans with black trim from factory are DX 's. LX and EX all have ugly chrome I think.

I removed all my trim to paint my car, front upper slides forward then you pop it off(careful though, clips are usually not reusable, seals are bad and they won't snap on well, they were like 3-4$ a piece from Honda:mad: ) clips for the door trim are fairly easy. Rear quarters are tricky, I looked into it but just removed the windows instead, I was told the trim is integrated in with the window/seals/trim, I remember seing it removed as an entire unit in the oem shop manual

Thanks. Monty was trying to explain to me that the trim and window is one piece too. He said they had to cut the window out to remove it.

EDIT: Just found a local business that will come on-site, cut out a quarter-panel window, then come back out and reinstall it for $75/window. So $150 for both. I'm sold!

You might be able to get the trim off the glass after removing assembly but im not sure.
And That's what I did, except I had front and rear windshields and both quarter windows removed and reinstalled on site for $190, look around for someone cheaper, 150 is a lot for those two small windows

Thanks. I'll look around some more, but in my 'town' businesses are very limited. If I find someone cheaper in the nearest city, I imagine they'll start charging me more for the drive out here.
