i honestly wouldnt mind a 6th Gen Accord DX 5spd.... its slightly lighter out the box then the other trims and a whole lot cheaper used.... you could replace your hood/trunk with carbon fiber, remove the spare tires and all that other crap and mod the **** outta your suspension and it should be somewhat fun to drive

civics are ehh... ive seen some clean ones here and there... and they are nice but here in socal its wayyy too common... and it seems like all the teg and civics have the loud *** rattle can exhaust no matter what brand they get.... them B series motors are just too loud for me

i kinda wished i had a CB7 if i could start over.... easily drop a h22 in the bay and call it a day

please get the accord but whatever you do "do not get an automatic" I feel bias saying this but I personally hate civics I refuse to drive one but thats just me it has a horrible reputation. I rather say I drive an accord than a civic any day

If you want a fun car to drive. don't get either. If you like lots of space, pretty good gas mileage and a comfortable car to cruise in. Then get an accord. It looks good, they are faster than a civic. Get the civic if you enjoy better gas millage, having your car getting broken into.

i second this... if your looking into a automatic 6th gen keep looking... the auto trannys that honda made for this generation is very weak and unreliable

haha thats funny you posted this cause just yesterday i went to autozone for some silicone spray and ran into a old friend and he happend to park right next to me. well we talked and he started to show me his "modded" civic, it was a silver 98 coupe. and yea it was nice and had a drop and you know intake exhaust and all that and yea it was a 5spd but he asked about my car and i pop my hood and he just like "dammm" he saw my j30 with i/h/p/e and he was like yea well my civic can keep up with del sols and crx and si and whatever, but the whole time i was thinkin that wow he is really proud of that, and my car would completly destroy all of those unless they are turbo'd (even though mine is auto)..lol but i didnt say anything. but hey at least he didnt have all the ricey stickers and fender vent and all that lol

but back to topic yea get an accord. all those silly lil cibic owners have riced it all up and makes it hard to keep yours from becoming rice by relation.. imho

here's my input.

Civic is faster because of light weight and more engine mods than Accord.
Accord is fancy and looks better than a Civic and last longer than a Civic and has more better features than a Civic....

Accord ftw. =]

So some of you wouldnt mind the dx?

1. better handling. cutting curves will be easier and it won't lean as much when you turn.

2. better aerodynamics. Nascar lower their fronts as low as they can but with a spoiler, it's adjusted so it would reduce drag.

3. looks. it looks better than a 4x4. no question about that.

but to me, EX is better. i like my leather seat powered with power windows. haha

To the O/P, let me put it perhaps in another light,

Hotdogs/Kraft Dinner or Steak/Lobster?

I think we all know the right answer to this question and yours.

The Civic does offer a better platform for aftermarket upgrades, but the Accord will give you more satisfaction as far as being able to accomplish something with a car rarely known for performance.

Anyone can mod a Civic, and Accord takes thought and planning to mod it right.
