considering new paint job? get a new "sticker"

thats like F&F stuff right there, go drive all crazy, then peel the color off so the cops wont know. lol

and i bet you could get a paint job for 3k, but thats not if you want the doro jambs and engine bay etc done. so you are getting the 'same' results. but its not permanant.

its a hard toss up if 3k is worth a temporary color change. depends on how durable it is. and im sure there is a chemical that wont hurt the car that will make the residue wash right off.

i think its worth it.

1. protects majority of exterior surface, preserving original factory paint virtually "untouched"...its like mummies being preserved....
2. different color availability gives you almost "new paint job" feeling + knowing factory paint is underneath....win win situation...
3. going back to "STOCK" is possible without having to re-"repaint" the car. having 2 different "paint" on exterior and doorjam/enginebay/etc VS having 2 different colors BUT factory paint preserved.....again, win win situation

money? if you are considering new paint job, well, you should have thought of this long ago

so yeah, of course this cant be substitute for paint job, but its something you can invest your money on if you own high-end car AND planning to keeping it LOOOONG time

one of the vendors on my motorsport club does that. i asked for a quote for my neon, it cost about $3500 and that's with a 15% club membership discount. EAT A DICK. on the bright side, it's really good protection for the original paint against chips and stuff like that. but unnecessary.

tht looks pretty good tho... i'd do it anytime... protect OEM paint and i can go back to my original color at anytime

I'd rather get the new paint job for the money, unless they are going to be able to do in the door jambs and all that.

It would be good as protection for the OEM paint for sure, but I wonder what it would do in terms of trapping moisture. I assume it should be fine, but if it isn't applied properly, and air bubbles form........

Hell, what about a cheap way to do just the roof panel in black?? Anyone this this is a great idea for something like that? Because to just do the one roof panel that doesn't have any creases or compound curves would be an easy layover and shouldn't cost very much at all!

I personally don't like the look of carbon fiber hoods and trunks very often....
...and I can't stand hoods and trunks painted black JUST to look like cf.

the reason I'd do the roof is because I think it flows nice and takes your eyes off of the top of the car, and brings it to the outer edges, from the a-pillar to the top of the door frame, to the c-pillar. which i think brings out smoe of the best in the car.

Yeah, I'd just leave the rest GOOOOLD. but that DOES seem like a good idea and an easy way to do it, no?
