Okay since I'm not a great mechanic, I'm taking my Accord to a local shop to have my type II's installed and I was just wondering what I should expect to pay. Thanks guys.

Re: F&F Type 2 Installation question

Shops usually charge a lot. I would look around on craigslist and find local people that do suspension work to help you. That'll save you a lot of money.

Yeah, I hear ya. I was hoping I could find a place that specializes in suspension work or that deal with modded cars like you said. The place that recently rebuilt my transmission and replaced the timing belt quoted me $300 to install the coilovers. BTW, they charged me $1900 for the tranny and $200 for the timing belt, so they've been pretty good to me so far. Thanks guys, really gotta get these things installed, tired of the 4x4 look.... :hide:

I was on the same boat as you, but I had Koni yellows and ground control and reusing the OEM top hats. I searched around for a bit because it would have been a first time for me to install suspensions. I was quoted up to 400-200, but instead I just posted on facebook that whoever wanted to help message me, got a friend to do it with me, took a little over 5 hours because it was both of our first time, but he had all the tools for it.

OP you dont have any friends that work on cars.. that are also into the scene? theres really not much to it to install coilovers on our cars.. a basic mechanic tool set will get the job done. if you had a VW rabbit then i would say take it to the shop (<the be far most PITA car ive installed coils onto)

Magicman, if you were local I'd be able to assist you, sadly, that's not the case. Try searching up the full process of installing coilovers and decide whether or not to tackle the job yourself.
