Hey everyone ive been looking around the forums at members rides and 'rides of the month' to try and get a gauge of the cost to make my accord into a car people look at.

Its a black 99 coupe with the v6. the car has nice lines and a good profile (without the wing in my opinion). But they totally got it wrong with the suspension and the basic looking front/lower sides.

So to those who have gone down the route, how much did these upgrades cost everyone?
Im thinking- wings west body kit; front/back lip and skirts. (is it possible to get the oem sideskirts still?)
-And then dropping the car 2 or 3 feet (thing devours speedbumps right now though..)
And then blackhousing which is fairly easy DIY ive read.

How much would something like that cost? (i have no background in any of this, im 18 in college and this is my first car that isnt a straight beater)

my bad on the long post *** post. Thanks in advance

do suspension right the first time get coilovers. lip kit will be nice and paint will cost a lot. im guessing around 2k would be enough to look nice. ohh yea and dont forget rims and tires. add another 800 to that so estimate under 3k to look pretty good for a daily driver.

its stock height roy.......its feet, hahaha

my full coilovers were $800. you can find them for less....but it all depends on what kind of suspension you want too. so that, plus whatever wheels you get, diy blackhousing headlights, and maybe tint, and it would be clean.you could deff have a clean car on a $2k budget.

At the drop you want, you will want coilovers. That will be $700-1500 realistically, depending on what you choose. Nice rims and tires will cost another $1500-2000. Then your lip kit will go for about $1000 or so painted.

I'm content how my car looks and i've spent only about $1000. I bought some used rays rims, spring/shock combo, tires and some DIY stuff. I'm not including my stereo here as most of it was from an old car and secondly, you could pay alot less, or alot more than i did. However, i think $2000-3000 is a much more realistic budget to get it to where you want, more if you are planning any major performance mods.

well obviously, you cant pin point out how much is needed to make your car nice....

simply because;
1. there are way too many options to make your car 'nice'
some cost arm and leg, some cost just about whole paycheck, some may cost lots of time and effort.

2. unless you have what you want exactly and where to buy all planned out, you will have to research, some require finding a shop to install/tune......which means, again, takes lots of time....

suspension-be ready to shell out more than 2k for full coilover setup(dont argue with me how there's cheaper and alternative route, because there isnt.) this will include rims/tires as well for improved grip/handling. there are camberkits you might have to worry about. and of course few things like time to install these bad boys, adjust, extra money to get alignment and blah blah blah

lip kits - prepare to spend more than another 1.5k if you're buying it new/and get it painted. of course you can install these to save few bucks. you'll have to find a reputable shop(unless you want crappy job) to paint and whatnot....

black hosing headlight - yes easy....but if you mess up your one and only pair, you're screwed...if you have another car to back it up to go to school/work, be my guest. i always like to work on things when i have spare for 'just-in-case' situation.

mean while, there are few bolt-ons you can get....intake/exhaust/header/etc etc....

now if you wanna take it to next level, look into engine swap/tranny swap/supercharge setup/even turbo/full suspension/gutted interior.....

it really depends what you want with your car, and what you think is nice for you...dont try to satisfy others with YOUR car....it is your ride at the end of the day in your garage or your drive way....
