be like it is
wait...since you guys have a tail pipe sniff test...wouldn't the testers find a lack of rear muffler a little strange?

i would bet if they go to hook up the sensor and dont see a muffler, they would raise a flag and probably start digging around...

as i stated not having a muffler isnt exactly the plan as of now, just need to find something reasonably small that wont get crushed when from **** on the highway. I have some pull on the place i smog assuming i can pass visual and the sniffer im good to go. In ca you dont have to have a muffler just be under 90db and i was wondering if a long resonator would keep the car fairly quiet i hate those loud *** tint fart can sounds. Using a muffler isnt i a problem all in all its just finding one right for this application

Well my honest to god final thoughts are had work f23 manifold stage 1 cam, still legal looking and smog passing. I want to raise compression. If inot the plan is to get forged replacments in the bottom end that will hold up to n02 in huge shots. This is still legal in cali as long as the bottle isnt hooked up or closed or whatever. The thing is if i rebuild forged id like to go with hi compression so when im not spraying i still have a more fun car.

Honestly everything but the hi compression sounds like the only legal way to do things in california, Im even going to try to tap the manifold on the underside so you cant tell theres a kit when you pop the hood. As far as engine managment im just going to tun ems and have two maps one for smog and one tuned for the motor and spray.

Like i said this is all sleeper and mostly legal under CA laws, but raising the compression is something that is not obviously but a cop cant see pistons and a head mill, so my only problem is the outrageous nox readings i will most likely get on a sniffer, and i think using two cats to battle that is the best way.

The only reason i want the muffler or whatever under the car is so i can use piping with no bends whats so ever, and sticking a muffler out the enter of our car would look really homo....

Summit sells 3-way cats (under $100 each) that could pull your emissions down as a temporary fix. You will need to at least run a resonator and a muffler, or you will get the farty sound you said you don't like. 2.5" is going to be fairly loud, not much you can do about that. But, since performance really doesn't matter on a smog test, you could run a factory sized muffler when you go to smog.
