Ok here is my DIY on the "seafoam spray" throttle body clean method. this is an easy way, but i doubt it will be as effective as actually taking it off manually and cleaning it.
Tools needed:
- 1 can of seafom SPRAY. its just like reg seafoam, but with a round black top and a long spray straw for the spray nozzle. It cost a couple more bux for this sea foam though. like 8.99 at advanced auto parts
- whatever tool you use to get your intake off the manifold, or used to get it on. All i need is a flat head for my boot clamp.
- pliers for other hose clamps, if you havnt seafoamed your car this year. (pcv valve, vac hose) (Seafoam DIY)
Start by removing your intake after the car has been running for about 7 mins after a cold start. if you are stock i would just loosen the clamp on the manifold and pull the intake off, then just let it chill there while you do it. it is too much work to actually take it all out and put it back in.
Intake off:
Grab the can of seafoam spray and make sure your red straw is in the nozzle nice and snug so it dosnt come off in your TB
hold the throttle open and put the straw in just a cople inches and spray for a couple seconds. then gradually push the straw in while spraying. you want to use about half the can.
throttle open:
let it soak in for about 7-10 more mins.
put your intake back on and start the car, you might have to give it some gas to get it to start at first. but it will start up and run fine after a couple secs.
once the car starts and seems to be idling ok, rev your engine and watch as your driveway and front yard or wherever turns into a cloud.
just let the car run for a few mins while cleaning up, then take her on the high way.
