Just try it lol, trust me it works. And its not like it'll damage anything even it you mess up, at most blow a fuse. I've had it working since before the post, no problems so far.

doin this right now, im assuming i just leave the reverse relay out now, correct? thanks!

Bad idea! Potential fire hazard. The reverse switch was never meant to take the full current of the reverse lights. That is why they designed in a relay to switch the high current of the lights. Also taping into a unfused into 40A circuit is just asking for a toasted car.

I don't have time to post it tonight but I will get some diagrams on how to do it properly.
