I shifted from D4 to D3 cus I was stupid. It ended up costing me $1500 to rebuild my tranny. Ever since I stopped shifting at all when my car is moving. Don't do it man.... unless you got $1500...

There nothing that says you cannot do it but if you wanna do it be prepare for the consequences.

damn thats not good lol, i drove at d3 going like 80-90 before, i'm not gonna do it anymore.. And is it the same with putting your car in neutral and then shifting to drive?
wouldn't shifting from d4 to d3 pretty much be like downshifting?

i constantly shift between D3 and D4 and i frequently go up to around 80 in D3. If it was bad enough to break your tranny then how come you dont even have to push in the button to do it? i was told its fine to shift between them while driving, and its just a computer setting. Maybe im an idiot but ive been doing it for 20K and havnt noticed any difference in my tranny, whatever im doing 5spd swap this winter.

If you read my thread Honda says that you can do it. I do it sometimes but no everyday or week but once every once in a while. Your tranny would go bad doing it or not its a course you cannot changed. I recomend not to do it no matter the circumstances.

i don't know how the v6's are geared, but in my 4cyl manual, third gear will hit the rev limiter right at 100mph.

so, under that and you should be good :)
