Dry ABS?

Has anyone had the problem of the ABS kicking in on a dry surface? Ever since I changed my lower ball joints two months ago, the ABS has been engaging every time I come to a stop. It's super annoying, but if I take the ABS fuse out, then the ABS doesn't engage, but then the ABS light indicator comes on. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Is it throwing any codes? I would imagine it would be a pump failure of sensor or something.

You might have messed up a wheels speed sensor when doing the ball joints.

Check the tone ring on the axle and go from there.

The thing is, I didn't touch the axles other than taking the spindle off them. I unclipped the sensors inside the engine bay instead of taking the whole sensor off the spindle arm. The only other thing I could think of is a semi seized rear caliper and e brake cable that throws off the sensors.

Have never touched mine myself yet, but have been told by a few people that unplugging the connector of the abs unit in the engine bay can fudge it up and require you to need a new one.

Whether such is true once again I'm not sure but some searching around could probably yield an answer.


Since yours came after doing LBJ thought I'd think it has something to do with that most likely...as already mentioned toner rings or speed sensors.
