So over the past few months, the radio died on me. Eventually it just stopped turning on altogether. Been trying to troubleshoot it myself but to no avail. I ended up buying a refurbished radio from eBay (from a seller who specializes in refurbed car radios). I plugged it in, and it wouldn't turn on. The old radio was not the only problem. I ended up taking it to an audio shop in Allentown, PA and they determined the power and ground wires needed to be replaced. I also had them replace the power antenna, so that works now as well (the inner cable was broken so it wouldn't move automatically). When I picked the car up yesterday, the cassette portion of my original radio still did not work correctly, and the speakers still cut in and out. I plugged in the refurbished radio, and turned it on, and it worked perfectly. So in conclusion, this problem was a combination of the radio itself going bad, and wiring issues. I will be searching for an original 3rd gen Prelude radio (or having my old one repaired) as the one I have in it now is out of a 1998 Accord and doesn't fit quite right in the dash. But for now, it works and I can listen to cassettes again. On another note, I got all that done just in time for Radwood Philly this Sunday, October 14. If you plan on going, please stop by and say hello to Atreyu Here are a few pictures I've taken the past couple months:
Had a blast at Radwood Philly on Sunday! Met a lot of new people, hung out with some acquaintances and friends, and got to say hi to Brian from RCR.
A '91 Prelude Si 4WS 5spd with 10k miles just went for $30k on BaT. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1991-honda-prelude-7/
Crosspost from PreludePower: Atreyu is now put away for winter. See you in the spring... Next year, we are going on a long vacation overseas, so most of my expendable income is going toward funding that. So, Atreyu might be on the back burner for a while. Mainly I plan on getting the radio fixed, and maybe I'll be able to get some body work done on it. Here's hoping.
Maybe it was mentioned somewhere but it appears you lent your car to Regular Car Reviews? Lol his videos are always...interesting.
