Hey everyone, I have a strange problem. In the hot summer months, I have encountered an issue where my car will not turn over when I turn the key. It just clicks. I know what you're thinking, right- battery? Ignition? Not as far as I can tell. Battery is strong. Ignition is good. And of course it has gas in it. This problem has never occurred in the winter.
Eventually, if I let my car sit for 5 minutes, the car will crank as if nothing was wrong. But inevitably, the problem will occur again in time.
I've figured out a way to reproduce this problem, but not entirely sure how to explain it. I live in an apartment complex. If I am getting ready to leave out, and cold start the car, then drive 500 feet to the clubhouse to check my mail, and then attempt to start the car again, my car will fail to start immediately. Once again, if I let the car sit for a few minutes, the car will start just fine after.
The only way I can think to "describe" this is like the old carburetor engines. My Accord is acting as if the "choke" is stuck open and burning too rich. That way, when I cold start- the "choke" is wide open. Then when I drive 500 feet, and turn the car off again, it's as if the car's "choke" is still stuck in the wrong position, so it is still getting too rich a mixture and refuses to start again right after.
I know the car is fuel-injection, so obviously this is not my particular case, but based on my attempted explanation, has anyone every encountered this problem before? How did you fix it?

The more I read, it almost sounds like this could be caused by a bad main relay. Does this sound plausible?
