yeah, no cat. but i think what really did it was the tranny swap, all those high rpms = more soot

What you could always do it grab some spare sheet metal and if you know someone have them wrap it in carbon fiber. Similar yo the Evo's.

possible, but iono if the clear on the cf could handle the heat

What alot of dsm guys used to do in order to not have a big *** shield was to get the exhaust like an 1in back. Then use a much smaller shield that is only on the bottom of your lip. Worked will for alot of people.

Also, if you clay bar and wax that part, if it's not getting heat, just soot, it should look fine. Just be diligant and don't let it build up.

i want to do this, but are there any more designs then what was provided?

should i pop rivet it or tape it up? any help on this idea?

Take some sheet metal and tin snips and cut, bend it to fit the contour of the lip, and 'blossom' out a bit. Get some heat shielding dynamat stuff, can't remember the name of it... Tin foil with 3/8" insulation stuck to it... anyway, cut to match the sheet metal, then pop rivet that sucka on!
