Perhaps hold your judgements about the Fidanza clutch a little longer. Finch installed the exact same setup in my car and it works fantastic. Unlike when he installed his own, mine was properly lubed and the clutch pads have a slightly different design which may possibly have a positive effect on clutch longevity beyond simply eliminating friction noise.

Regardless... being able to work a full day, install a transmission, and install a clutch on short notice all in one day is quite an accomplishment. Congrats Brandon!

Interesting, Ive not seen a clutch plate that wasn't a full ring. Is that to reduce inertia?

With the clutch material worn down to the rivets, is there enough space between the flywheel / pressure plate and the torsion springs? Perhaps that what is knocking them out.

Not having a complete ring of material will put some very odd stresses into the "spokes" holding the pads. Wonder if they're twisting under load?

Just speculating cos the last clutch I took out (on a car) was on a morris minor.
