Alright so here goes.....been driving for almost 5 yrs now and never had gotten a ticket, pulled over or anything of that sort.....until today. I was on my way to go pick up a battery from my dad to go get it charged and then meet up with my g/f for a little "alone time" (yeaaaa boiiiii!!!!) So i was havin a great mornin blastin my music and headin out to get the battery when BAM friken bike cop strolls out into the middle of the road and points to the side......first thought........**** that ticket is gonna be a lot!!!!! So he walks up to the window, luckily i was able to put it down before he got there cuz i have illegal tints on there, and he said that i was going 62 in a 35!!!! Yea so now i have a $207 ticket with my name on it. So i have a little question for you all should i

1) pay it straight up and go to driving school
2) get an attorney

i am just worried about the points on my liscense.

here in cali, this is what you can do.

ask for extension of due date, when they do and your extended due date is up, as for another extension.(twice is max). and ask to see judge. most likely, judge will lower your fine alot lower...and if officer doesnt show up, you're free to go. meaning no ticket, no fine, no points, no insurance premium increase.

for myself, i coudlnt go ask to see judge, because i got ticket from norcal, and i live down here at socal....LOL so i paid the fine in full + traffic school fee, and finished the traffic school in less than a hr(open the test in new window, and ctrl + f, look for the answer in the reading material..haha)

if you go to traffic school, no points on your license, no premium increase.

hope that helps.

what you mean pay it? you just need to pay for the court fee and pay for the defensive driving school. you don't have to pay the ticket. i guess other states are different.

1) Always request for a court date! It will always be lower than the fine. One judge and like 50 people, runs through the cases like an assembly line. Most tickets were slashed at least 50-80%! $207? Gonna be $100 or less if you can afford to have a day off for court.

2) Since it is your first time, say yes to the traffic school, you can choose comedy, regular, or online. Online was cake!

Took me about 5-6 years before I got my first ticket too.

in AZ the first ticket will be disappearant from the driving record and will never never be seen againt if u go to traffic survival school
