I'm tryig to wire a switch to my fuel pump. so is the ground wire the way to go ?

oh also i wanted to use a relay with the switch but i don't understand them at all. for some reason i can't grasp the concept .. if anyone cares to explain them in detail and what prong does what, and how i would go about wiring one up with a switch, id gladly read it :) but i wanted to wire the switch up to tue ground if at all possible.

Mostly as a safety issue....

In this case I dont see the difference. I will say that there are multiple ways to make a safe circuit, and hot side is fine in a lot of cases. . . But in this case, where the pump is fused from the factory, I think its safer for him to be fvcking around with the ground wire than the power wire. Its a safety issue. . .

so can i tap into the ground wire without the need of a relay ?
