No, i just jack it from my dad. My dad hates commuting in it so he takes my moms car, i take my dads, and my mom can walk to work (and does regardless if her car gets jacked or not)
I own my accord and a 71 jag xj6. And i will probably buy a project car that is less of a project than my jag soon, for auto cross specifically.

My dad is against me doing ANYTHING to it, i changed the headlight BULBS and he was like WHY!? the old ones were FINE!
My mom, well as long as i do good in school and listen to her, she'll let me. At first she was like "there's no point in lowering your car, you're jsut wasting money" But when i bought them, she's like w/e haha
now i'm trying to go for rims, cuz im changing my tires anyway, might as well get some nice rims :]

I think people should state there age too (except it's embarrassing for some of us like me lol). I can tell some of you may still be in high school. Unless some of your parents just didn't give up. Mine did a long time ago. I bet my dad will have the biggest smile on his face when i have owned a car for 5 years and it is stock still.
For you younger dudes, make sure you keep your car running too. Always do the regular maintainence yourself. Over time, your parents will, or should, respect the fact that first, it's a learning experience, second, you actually save money by not paying mechanics, and lastly, it's something that is part of you, it's not just to stand out.
At my age, it's hard as hell for me to bond with my dad over anything that isn't school (which is basically done), or work related. I love the fact i can come to him for that. But cars, even though he's far less into than i am, is really the only time we really just BS, hang out, and have a chance to just chill. I helped him replace the top on his S2000, he is now very impressed (10 years later) instead of iffy of what i know. When he drove my jag and saw how it ran, i could just see he was happy. That was his old car, and my grampa's old car too, but even though i'm close to my parents, it's still one of the few things i have between him and me where i will always be able to enjoy it. So if you are young, help your dad out, change his oil, let him watch you, it gave me some of my best memories.

This is very correct!!......my first mod was a drop on neuspeed springs and my parents went crazy over it claiming that riding in a car should be soothing and relaxing.......well they're in their early 50s soo thats a given
However, overtime as I do maintenance like oil changes, DIY Black housing, rims, taking off the front bumper, etc.........they figured wat the hell its my hobby and as long as I keep school in priority it is perfectly okay
.......they do say this a lot though:: "If only you can keep your room as clean and tidy as your car" lulz

I've been waiting for this thread lol! well my dad is the kinda guy who's rig will get him from point a to point b. he does keep his rigs clean but no aftermarket stuff. Everytime I tell him about some wheels I wanna get it's always the same answer..."whats wrong with the ones you have?"
my step-dad however, loves his cars..he washes them once a week in the winter and twice a week in the summer. or after every trip to town. he goes out in his boxers to wash them in the winter
a 60 year old guy bent ovr in his scivvies(sp?) and painting his fenders isnt pretty
hes more of an old school guy so the accord thang hasnt quite caught on lol. and my mom....she just doesnt give a ****, step-dad keeps her rigs clean for her and she drives the faster car in the lot, taurus SHO.
I'm sad to say I would trade my car for the SHO if she wanted
Overall, they dont agre with most of it, specially now that im living on my own, but they know they cant do anything about it.

My Dad used to get pretty pissed whenever I was doing something to my car to "PIMP" it out. ....Thanks MTV 
. But now he's a lot better about it cuz he knows that I just love cars and it's an important hobby to me. But he still doesn't like to see me drop money on something like exhaust. And he won't like it when I get my rims, I have a feeling 
My mom thinks its cool, or is indifferent. I think she's proud of the fact I've learned a lot about my car and can do stuff to it. She's obsessed with the blue interior led swap.

I haven't modded my car 
but technically it's their car, and will probably go to my brother if he ever feels the need to get a license. My parents know I have wanted to drive since I was like 7, and know i'm out there washing the car always keeping it clean. My dad has mentioned buying new rims because he knows i've been contemplating it, and wouldn't care much if I modded it. My mom would just tell me to ask my dad because she wouldn't know what it does. haha
