My Mom was against me buying my 6th gen from the very start because i guess she wanted me in a 7th gen from the very beginning. My dad didnt even want me to buy it because it was a v6 and i should have been drivin a civic or something. I Got it despite them both not liking my car at all even though they are not economical with there cars for example they drive a toyota land crusiser and a s class 500 they want me to drive a civic that is some bs. As all the mods I bought they always would tell me why did you spend more money on that car. (They know about my tranny problem) When i got my fog lights they still were trippin even though they cost 20 dollars but i dont car i will do what i want. As far as the gf she feels i spend to much time on it.

putting it nicely my dad thinks that ghetto ****, and my mom doesnt really care what i do to my car. when i first got my springs i had them for about a month before my dad noticed them sitting in my car, he had a fit saying that i wasnt gonna put them on and all this crap cuz its "his" car. he got over after a couple days and me constantly telling him "its my car ill do what i want" when it came down to putting them on the car he was really helpful. :) i dont think he cars anymore, but we'll see when i buy my next mod.

Depends on what age. 9 years ago, my dad would get so pissed. My brother bought a lowed car with alot of suspension problems and my dad told me if i lowered my car EVER, he would never help me out financially on anything, EVER.

Fast forward 9-10 years...Now that i have been into it for soo long, he knows i just won't keep anything stock. I think he has figured out that, first, it's a part of me. Second, the few times he has had to drive my car (mostly when i jack his), i think he is surprised that all this actually works. BUT, i think the main factor is that i have only taken any car i own to the shop twice ever. I learned to fix soo much in the process that it's unnecessary. I'm unwilling to do a clutch on my car because of downtime. I have done it on other cars though, i just don't have time, that's the one thing that i'm going to a shop for.

Don't get me wrong, my dad still thinks its dumb, a waste of money, but he has done very minor after market things to his s2000 on my advice and has been very happy. I think he realizes now, there are quality products, you just have too look. So, yeah, he gets more and more supportive, but very slowly.

My mom doesn't care at all. I showed her pictures my accod stock and now, she said "i can't see the difference". She just figures, "it's your money".
