I can go everywhere on the site still. What would I need to do to save it? Is there a way to save it vb format to repost the whole thread here?

Or am I really going to have to go into every post and repost it here?[/quote]

Please figure this out, I havent been able to find an actual detailed H22 swap. Ive never tried and engine swap but have plenty of time to give it a shot if I can actually read up on a real detailed swap:crazyrun:

The swap itself with the Innovative race mounts included

Hondata S300 and tunning

Aem V2, Hytech replica header, metal substrate cat, 3 Magnaflow resonators, dual Apexi mufflers, custom 3 inch stainless steel mendrel bent exhaust, 7 custom high rigidity hangers

Endyn modified oil pump to get more oil pressure, Greddy kevlar belts where added while I was at it, H23 manual tensioner, Blacktrax intake manifold spacer

Let me see if I can steal a pic of it from the meet, I didn't have time to take one since the swap lol.

People say 3 inch exhausts should only be used on turbo 4 cyl motors, whats your compression ratio again?

People say lots of things on the internet so I wanted to verify it. The motor makes 200lb/ft torque or so at the flywheel which to me is not wimpy at all. Church man himself saw the dyno and he said I made as much power as an S2000 on his dyno but about 30lb/ft of torque more.

The trick from my experience is to assure plenty of room for exhaust gasses and insure a straight path. The car made 212.5whp before I added a chambered resonator to quiet it down even further. THAT was a loss of over 10whp (down to 202whp), compared to the gain in torque - 3 lb/ft (172.5 to 175.5 wtq). Furthermore the loss of torque under the area at high rpm was enormous from adding the resonator, while the 3lb/ft gain was only a peak gain and no gain was made at low rpm from the added backpressure. The compression is 10.6 to 1 -standard JDM compression.

You can't handle it ha ha.

1. First setup I had a 3 foot by 6 inch round resonator, Apexi WS2 mufflers and Magnaflow cat. Quite enough and sounded good, clearance was really bad, some speed bumps a no go.
2. Resonator above destroyed while in the canyons. So this second setup I had two 18 inch by 4 inch Magnaflow resonators to replace the 3 foot one. Before Vtec it sounded just like the first setup but louder and Vtec sounded like ***. Bumble bees and rattle cans
3. Added a third resonator in the kink between the rear wheels 4 inch by 9 -chambered. Quiter than both of the above and sounds much better, some character like a G35 but more bass.

In the world of all motor four bangers you can only have 2 of the 3:
a)Low power loss
b)Good clearance
c)Good sound

1st setup had a and c
2nd had a and b
3rd b and c

My buddies new M3 sounds great with no cats or resonators. You could boost and not need a chambered resonator. But all motor you have to make a tradeoff, use a truck sized resonator and hit every bump in the road, or use chambered resonator and kill some power, or bear with the nasty sounds.

Hey Cvjoint. I've been doing alot of searching on the h22a swap and there's not alot of info on the 6th gen swap. Pretty much the basics on the 5th and 4th. Any insider info or tips that you can give that might make this swap go smoother/faster? I've heard of ppl doing a similar swap over the weekend. Like to do the same but im doubting its possible.

Mine is still not done yet...lol It makes some noises I don't like and some of the mounts aren't torqued down properly. I wouldn't expect this to be a weekend job, even the most talented such as Drift had some time invested in it.

Big lesson learned for me was that the H22 is an old engine, you may have to replace things on it to run 100%: cam seals, starter, ignition coil, oil gunk etc.

Driver's side mount must be custom, so does PS line, temp gauge for '00 and later, distributor harness... plan $ and time for these. I've spent 2 months dealing with Innovative to mod my mount, I called 30 times by now, made a trip there 4 times, still have a temporary mount in there... but I'm anal about stuff being as reliable and solid as stock or better.
