I was having problems with my car not starting and read a few post on here about the fuel pump relay so i have decided to replace it but i cant locate it under my dash board. Can someone tell me exactly where it is or what the replay looks like because the one i got from the parts store doesnt look like anything under my dash. I see a relay up high in the back of my dash thats hard to get to but im not sure if that is it. Thanks for your help in advance.

Yea it was a generic brand from Arch Auto parts. It costed me 50 bucks for the relay. Its a big square plug. I have driven my car around all day and havent had not one problem.

Im kinda curious what your symptoms were... did your car ever die while driving? mine's starting to die in the middle of driving I throw it in neutral and then try to throw it back into a lower gear to kind of "push" start it and it just bogs way down and when I go to start it, it starts and jumps up and immediately dies... lol if I try starting it and I hold my foot on the pedal and rev it up a few times it's fine... I never have problems starting it often... sometimes it'll start up and choke a little then die... but I start it again and it's just fine.. think I have the same problem? I have a code for the tps sensor... and I replaced it but I still have the code for the tps sensor... I think my plug has something wrong with it because it's a little loose.. not bad but I might be still throwing the code over that.. do you think it's fuel related or my tps? ideas anyone?

throttle position sensor is important because the car uses that sensor as well as others to decide how much fuel to push through the engine. If thats not working, basically your car doesnt know how far your pushing down the pedal.

that's kind of what I thought... I figured the tps was one of the things that governed how much fuel you need to equal how much air you're putting threw the engine. I had 2 codes, one for the tps and one for the ELD... I have the jdm ecu so I shouldnt have an ELD... I put a new blox tps on and I reset the ecu and I lost the code for the ELD but I still had one for the tps...

is there anything else that could throw a tps code? the car runs smoother now that I have a new one on but I still have like a "dead spot" around 3.5k rpms to 4k rpms, vtec still kicks in.... earlier today when I was driving and it died I started it as I was costing in neutral and then I put it into 3rd and I floored it and my car cut in and out... didnt die but it was almost as if I'd floor it then let off the gas completely it did that about 4 times but never died and then drove home fine afterwards... other than than the plug that I need to check out is there anything else I can look for if fixing the plug problem doesnt fix it? Also wouldnt having a tps issue give you an erratic idle or make you have an idle hop?

thanx hondaluver for the quick response! I'll check everything when I get back to work on monday

OP sorry for thread jacking.
