Good job dude. Why don't u just buy a new relay instead of trying to solder it?

Because I'm not too bad at soldering and far too cheep to buy a new one at £53 $83. If I solder it clean up all the contacts and it woks I've saved myself money.:p

I got the same problem but I buy a new one ! The guy explain to me that when your car is expose to the sun for a long period the relay just dont make the good contact anymore ! Idk exalty what the sun do on it but i had the same prob good job !

Cheers guys!

It's all re soldered up and back in the car. Hasn't let me down yet. I'll see how it goes at least if it starts happening again I've just got to order a new relay.

the heat expands and cntracts the PCB, the solder doesn't move nearly as much =cracked solder joints and intermittent connection.

Whoops, I thought the more the merrier. Oh well I'll see how it goes.

If you cleaned it and fluxed it prior to soldering, and got a nice shiny surface indication you got it hot enough it's probably good to go.

cold dull solder joints are always a problem.
