but im pretty sure a 2" drop will feel different from a 3" drop...

The overall height of the entire shock would be shorter and vice versa.

That's what Greg at Function and Form told me over the phone.

do you understand how these coilovers work? you lower them by adjusting the bottom mount up or down. by doing that, and not moving the spring at all, youd have the same ride feel at a 1", 2", 3"...etc., drop. the only thing that would change the way the ride feels on coilovers set up as so, is if you adjust the damper, if the set you have has that option.

the only other thing that could effect the feel of the ride would be if you moved the spring lower or higher, which like i said, you arent supposed to do with coilovers that have a height adjustable bottom mount....thats the whole point to having that type of bottom mount, so that the shock gets full travel regardless of how much of a drop you set them at, whether it be a 0.5" drop or a 3.5"+ drop. it would still ride the same because the overall height/travel of the shock stays the same.

cause you're moving the unit as a whole not just compressing.

I'll just chime in here randomly...

While what you're saying is true, it is not entirely true... Ride quality has a great deal to do with suspension geometry and although you do not lose "shock travel" you do lose suspension travel. By lowering your car, you are changing the suspension travel. The purpose of having the ability to alter the SPRINGS height is to help corner balance the car. So in that sense, yes your ride quality will change.

So there can be a plus to lowering the car using the top perches?
