Re: F2 Autolife - Coilovers "Function & Form"

what ever one is comfortable..i ride 50 miles highway everyday.,then city on the weekends..feeling every bump and crack is getting really annoying with my d2s..ha
I just heard that spending 1400$ for tein ss,is just for the name and these ride just as comfortable..but than again iv read 10 diff. things in all 26pages..ha

All I can say is I've riden on Tein SS, Tokico Blues & Yellows, Eibachs, and others; Function & Form was just right for a street car. With dampening, smooth ride in soft setting and stiff enough to hit the canyons when needed. Like I did today!

I think I'm in the same boat as swollen_cu. There has to be a coilover set that provides a decent drop with good comfort level. Obviously not looking for a boat ride but nothing harsh. Guess we're hoping that the type2s will provide that, if not, some company should start thinking about making coils that provide performance and comfort cause most of us aren't trackers.
Saying this, sounds like the type2s provide this...

I might put the trigger on this... waiting for some details :peace:

I'll say this - last night I took my car through an hour drive of canyon turns. I usually have my settings around the middle so it's comfortable. I went 7 click from max. dampening on front and 10 on rear - the car felt amazing! The road is smooth but has some bumps and crack along some turns and the car remained firm on the ground with no harsh or bouncy loose feel.

exactly how the type 1's feel. I believe the type;s 1's i bought off of HT were 12k front nad 8k rear. Maybe that's why they were kinda stiff in the rear.

Re: F2 Autolife - Coilovers "Function & Form"

is it possible to ask for softer spring rates? i dunno how that will handle with the current shocks in either the type1s or 2s. any chance to find out more info?

anyone have any experience between the original type2s and the 2nd gen type2s? i was told the 1st gen was stiffer. how much software are the 2nd gen type2s?

I've had both - they feel the same as far as stiffness but the new set are more adjustable towards comfort. I think the valving on the new monotube rides better. The older set did not absorb impact as good as these.
