I have to go with what everyone else is saying, the auto trans are garbage. We do at least one tranny job a week on the v6 cg5's at the shop.

My tranny is still fine and isn't even showing one sign of going out anytime soon, but if I'm gonna do a mod that adds any amount of power to the engine, I'm gonna go for the 5/6-speed swap first. Whether we like it or not, manual trannys can almost always handle the power you feed through it. (Unless you are doing a really crazy build for insane amounts of power) Auto trannys can not.

If you're against doing a manual swap, import performance transmissions make built 5 speed automatics. They seem strong but they're expensive (2500+)
