I havent seen this one yet in person... Will prolly go look at it later on today... I had heard the piston slap on both other cars that I test drove... So if this one doesnt have the piston slap is it worth like $7,500 ish?

Personally I wouldn't buy it for that much. I'd pay 7k max....prob not even that. KBB the car to find it's approximate worth. That should give you a decent idea of where to start price wise.

Private party value in good condition is $7,045 and Excellent (which this car looks) is $7,600...

The retail (dealer) expected price from KBB is $9,205. They only list the possibility of "excellent" from a dealer actually...

I might still go to look at it... It is a dealer selling the car...

I agree, the price IS high.

I would tell him $7K out the door because you're going to have to do the timing belt and water pump. If I had to guess I would say they probably only have $4500 in it, if that. He's trying to hose you for a healthy comission.

Yeah... see what i want is one of this Generation with a 5 speed and low miles (like 75K ish)...

I might end up not buying this one... but just wanted my fiance' to see what this gen is about.. she's never been in one before...

I've been looking for what I "want" for about 5 weeks now... I just cant find it!!! I have a dealer that I had gone to high school with about 10 years ago (who I trust) looking for me this whole time.. and he's yet to find something at auctions or wherever... hes confident he will find something in like 3 weeks though

I think you're right though that the dealer only has about $4,500 invested in the car I'm sure....

Took a while... and a lot of haggling... but I talked them down to $7,500... The car started at ... well 9,995.. then "internet" at 8,995... then took about literally an hour and a half of haggling to get them down to 7,500... it pretty much was in mint condition... i mean it had some small piston slap normal noise til it reached operating temp.. but nothing bad.. but the body and everything was mint on this thing... good interior.. there was a small noise at idle in the rear of the exhaust somewhere... but just like a little "tapping" from somewehre in the back...

I think i'm signing paperwork on Monday... I'm pretty happy about the whole thing right now too! So please some people make me feel happy about my decision! I talked to a buddy of mine that is a used car salesman who said it is a good deal... unless you fella's feel that i'm making a mistake... it does seem like a very good and well kept car
