are these omni power???
make sure your threads are good & that there are no cracks or anything on the base of the coilover that it screws down in. Seems like a really good price though. I hope it works out for ya man. But put them on yourself if you do get them.

Ask him how miles are on them, if he can't (or won't) tell you, I'd walk away. My first suspension I bought used, the struts blew a year later.

Not sure why he is saying 98-01 when it's 98-02. And who is "we"? He makes himself sound like he works for Omni or did something in his shop to these coilovers... :eh:

Maybe its just me, but I wouldn't buy anything for a car used when it is for a major system like suspension. Pretty hard to tell the condition of coilovers just by staring at them. Good luck to you though, hope everything works out.

yea thats 1 thing im scared of. thats y im wondering if there would be a way to test if the shocks are bad. but it could be better than the setup i have with 2 front stocks blown. and its pretty cheap. i talked to him n he said they came off the accord he bought. its a gamble. and on the post it looks like he copied/pasted a summary from a omni dealer.

Test them the same you'd test any other shock/damper. It'll be a tad time consuming but if the seller really wants to sell them and isnt hiding anything he'll have no reason to say NO to you.

Lower the springs all the way down(by turning the two perches underneath it all the way down or off)...or totally take them off and press down on the damper. It should come up at a constant steady rate all the way to the top. Try this both at low/med/high dampening adjustable settings(if applicable). The higher/stiffer you go the harder it should get to push down on it and the slower it'll come up. As you press down listen for any weird noises emitting from the body. If anything you should only hear a possible faint sound of oil passing through orifices.

Check where the shaft enters the body for any leaks or oily substance. Check the shaft for any scratches or dents. Check the mounts for cracks, dents etc. Check that the threads are ok and free of rust. Also compare the tophats and make sure they are actually for your car.

I mean if you can find a place that can do an overhaul on them (Don't know if that's actually an option or not, do some research) then by all means go for it. Buying old suspension is always scary cause you don't know how the previous owner(s) treated them. You won't know if they will go bad as soon as you take the streets for the first time or within a couple months.

OR

You can just save up a little more and get some brand new coilovers instead.
